The SLIPP Workshop 2026 Was a Slide into Homebase: researchers, emergency managers, engineers, community search and rescue, planners, non profits, insurance experts and mental health professionals gathered to share what we are learning about landslides.
The Southeast Alaska Landslide Risk Reduction Strategic Plan is completed. Please review it, share it, and see where you might help out. Click this LINK to read it. The plan was created with leadership from the SLIPP Steering Committee which includes representatives from Tlingit and Haida, US Geologic Survey, National Weather Service, State of Alaska Division of Geology and Geophysical Survey, USFS,Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Southeast Conference, Community Collaborators, Sitka Sound Science Center. Community feedback was solicited and included.
