Landslide risk reduction requires strong partnerships between state, local, Tribal, and federal entities. The idea of a formal organization that assists in creating a hub for communities and agencies to share knowledge was developed by communities in 2024 during a meeting in Sitka. A working group was formed, and monthly meetings occurred. That group created the Southeast Alaska Landslide Information and Preparedness Partnership (SLIPP), which is facilitating this strategic planning effort.
